Now – Thursday (9/28) IdeaFestival – Idea Festival is finally here! New2 IdeaFestival? No worries newbie, we’ve got your back. Idea Festival is an annual 3-day event at the Kentucky Center and brings in world-class speakers from around the world to present innovation, imagination and world-changing ideas Ted-talks style. Wednesday (9/27) Waterfront Wednesday – Fall has arrived, which sadly means Waterfront Wednesday summer concerts is wrapping up. Don’t miss the final show of the season tonight. Featured artists: Anderson East, The Secret Sisters and Brooks Ritter. Music starts at 6 pm. Big shout-out to WFPK/LPM and Waterfront Development Corporation who keep this awesome event FREE. Thursday (9/28) Louisville Uncorked – Louisville Uncorked is a wine tasting event to raise money for local non-profit Youth Build. Interested? Grab three friends and register at www.louisvilleuncorked.com. Bring three of the same wine bottles to enter into the blind testing. Winner gets bragging rights and a lot of wine. Time: 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Location: Resurfaced. Dress to Impress.
Thursday (9/28) Sylvan Esso – We’re soooooo excited for this show and have been waiting for what seems like forever. But Sylvan Esso, electric/indie pop duo from Durham, NC, is finally here! They’ll be at Mercury Ballroom this Thursday and sure to put on an incredible show. The show is sold out, so hopefully you’ve already snagged a ticket. If so, we’ll see you there! Show starts at 8:00 PM.
Friday (9/29) The Clifton Roots, Jazz and Heritage Festival – The Clifton Roots, Jazz and Heritage Festival features an impressive array of musicians and dancers from around the world live on the Clifton Center stage. Music starts at 7:00 PM. Featured artists are Betsayda Machado Y Parranda El Clavo (Venezuela), Vasen (Sweden), Cloigheanne (Louisville) and Appalatin (Louisville). Music starts at 7:00 PM. General admission tickets are $18.
Saturday (9/30) Ninth Annual NuLu Fest – The trendy NuLu neighborhood is hosting their annual street festival this Saturday! Enjoy live music by Sonablast Records, micro-brewed beers, and awesome local food and a wide variety of local vendor booths. The festival kicks off at 11 AM and runs through 11 PM. Sunday (10/1) The Big Table: World’s Largest Potluck – Every broken a World Record? Here’s your chance! Join We Are Louisville‘s Big Table as they attempt to break the record for the World’s largest potluck. World Records aside, magical things happen when people get together for a meal. They eat. Sunday (10/1) Louisville Palace Halloween Movie Series – The Louisville Palace Halloween Movie Series kicks off this Sunday with Ghostbusters, the iconic 80s supernatural comedy starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver. Movie starts at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $8. The movie series continues every Sunday through the month of October. Next on the lineup is Beetlejuice on October 8th.
