Now that the Thanksgiving leftovers are gone, it’s time to start focusing on the holidays! Folks in the city are on board and offering a ton of holiday inspired events, from How the Grinch Stole Christmas to a Christmas Story.

Wednesday (11/29) New2Lou Christmas Carol Social - Join us tonight for happy hour apps, drinks, and a holiday classic, A Christmas Carol, at Actors Theatre! Thursday (11/30) Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical - Re-discover the magic of Dr. Seuss’ classic holiday tale as it comes to life on the Kentucky Center stage. Featuring the hit songs “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas,” The Grinch discovers there’s more to Christmas than he bargained for in this heart-warming holiday classic. Tickets start at $33.00. Show runs through Sunday (12/3).

Friday (12/1) Louisville Swig - 4th Annual Prohibition Repeal PartyJoin Louisville Magazine at the Henry Clay as they celebrate the Repeal of Prohibition and launch of the SWIG: Volume VII - basically a local booze and bar guide. GA tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door. Saturday (12/2) Holiday Wreath Making Classes - Why buy a holiday wreath when you can make your own? Participants will be instructed by the masters on how to design and assemble their own 22-24″ wreath. Materials are all fresh and harvested at Yew Dell. Class starts at 12:30 pm at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens (6220 Old Lagrange Road). Tickets are $35 for members, $45 for non-members. BYO gloves and pruners.

Sunday (12/3) Special Holiday Screening - A Christmas Story (1983) - The Louisville Palace is kicking off their Holiday Movie Series this Sunday with the 80s holiday classic, A Christmas Story (1983). The series continues every Sunday through end of December. Tickets are $5 at the box office, seating is all general admission. Movie starts at 2:00 PM. Next on the lineup is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation on December 10th.

Tuesday (12/5) Repeal Day in the Brewgrass - Happy days are beer again! Mark your calendars for a prohibition style beer celebration at Against the Grain next Tuesday. Enjoy their special prohibition style cocktail beer, The Last Wort, and special menu featuring bean soup and cornbread. They’ll also be raffling off homebrewing tools provided by Brewgrass Homebrew Supply. FREE event. Party starts at 6:00 PM.

Wednesday (12/6) New2Lou Game Night at Great Flood - Mark your calendars for board games and brew next Wednesday at Great Flood Brewing Co, local brewery located in the heart of the Highlands. Great Flood will be serving up great local craft brew, we’ll be serving up cool new folks and Google Fiber will be bringing some sweet swag. Party starts at 5:30 PM. Event is FREE w/ RSVP.

Wednesday (12/6) 98° at Christmas - Mark your calendars folks. 98 degrees, the 90’s pop boy band, are back on tour for the holiday season and will be bringing the heat to the Louisville Palace on Wednesday, December 6th.
