When I first moved here, I was asked immediately whether I was a UK or UofL fan. As a transplant, I can’t pretend to understand the deep rooted rivalry between these teams, but certainly know that it exists. It has now been five years now since we moved and to tell you the truth, I still can’t tell you I’ll root for. For me, today is much bigger that UK or UofL. We (meaning the state of Kentucky) have two (yes two) teams in the final four, that’s a guarantee that a team from Kentucky is going to the NCAA finals. Seriously, this is HUGE! Kentucky is getting a ton of great media attention, including the clip below of Louisville Mayor Fischer and Lexington Mayor Gray on CBS This Morning earlier today. So please as you celebrate this evening, keep in mind that no matter what the outcome of this game this is a big win for the state of Kentucky. Stay safe and please drink responsibly.
