Labor Day Weekend Festivities

Below are a few great reasons to stay in town for the upcoming 3-day weekend.  As a matter of fact, invite your friends to come visit and join in the fun!  Looking for more fun things to do, check out the local event calendars listed on our events page.

Friday (8/31) – Frankfort Ave Trolley Hop, aka FAT Friday, held year-round on the last Friday of every month. Enjoy live music and complimentary beverages and free trolley rides to shops, restaurants and galleries in the historic Clifton and Cresent Hill Neighborhoods.

 

Friday (8/31) – Sunday (9/2) – WorldFest 3-day international festival celebrating world food, music, dance and culture on the Belvedere in downtown Louisville.  Don’t forget to bring canned goods to help support the Dare to Care Food Bank.

 

Saturday (9/1) – Monday (9/3) - Kentucky Bluegrass and Burgoo Festival at the Louisville Watertower.  Live bluegrass music and try some traditional Kentucky burgoo, which is basically a spicy meat stew.  Admission is $7 before 6 pm and $10 after 6 pm and parking is free.

 

Monday (9/3) – Hike, Bike & Paddle Annual family-friendly event sponsored by the Mayor on the Louisville Waterfront to encourage active lifestyles. Click here for a full schedule of events.

 

Monday (9/3)Street Ruckus electronica street concert featuring Dan Deacon in the 700 block of W Main from 4 to 10 pm.  Tickets are $15 /person and available online or at the gate.  A portion of the proceeds will go towards historic Fort Nelson Park renovations.
