festivalofriverboatsNow - Sunday (10/19) Centennial Festival of Riverboats - The Belle of Louisville  is turning 100 and to celebrate they are throwing big birthday bash. Six full days of live musicevents, food, bourbon, art, and fireworks! And riverboats from around the nation are joining the party too! Don’t miss this opportunity to see all these historic gems in one location and hop on a cruise too while you’re at it!

RedTailRingWednesday (10/15) Red Tail Ring with Maiden Radio - Louisville’s own Maiden RadioJoan ShelleyCheyenne Mize, and Julia Purcell - are joined by the outstanding Michigan old-time duo Red Tail Ring at the Clifton Center for a night of great music. Tickets are $10.

YWC-FIF-2014Wednesday (10/15) YWC 2014 Fall Into Fabulous Fashion Show - Annual charity fashion show hosted by the Younger Woman’s Club at 7 pm at the Pointe.  See the latest fall trends hit the runway and support a great cause.  General admission tickets are $50, VIP are $85.

PechaKuchaLouisville_100x100Thursday (10/16) Pecha Kucha Louisville Vol 14 - What is PechaKucha? A night of ideas featuring a series of short presentations, 20 slides at 20 seconds each.  This month presenters will share community activation ideas and actions at Resurfaced at 7 pm. Free and open to the public.

SpeedArtMuseumBourbonCruiseThursday (10/16) Bourbon Tasting Cruise - Join the Speed Art Museum for a Bourbon Tasting Cruise in celebration of the Centennial Festival of RiverboatsTickets are $50 for Speed members, $60 for non members, includes bourbon tasting, cruise, hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar. Boarding at 6:45 pm. Cruising 7:30-9:30 pm.

Join us Friday, October 17 at ReSurfaced, the brand new pop-up plaza in Downtown LOU. Free and open to the public. RSVP today!

LIBA Brewfest poster 2014 top only copyFriday (10/17) LIBA Brewfest - Same night are our City Suds Urbanism Happy Hour, but no reason you can’t do both, right? Next Friday night from 4-10 pm. Tickets are $5 and includes a souvenir cup. Drink/food tickets are $1 each. VIP tickets are $45 and include a ton of perks. Volunteer and get a free T-shirt, mug and drink tickets!

VictorianGhostWalkFriday (10/17) - Sunday (10/19) Victorian Ghost Walk - annual fundraising event that celebrates the ghostly past of historic Old Louisville. Hear the stories, legends, and ghostly traditions of “America’s Most Haunted Neighborhood.” Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

BBQ-and-BrandySunday (10/19) BBQ and Brandy with Mexi-Kosher cuisine - Enjoy an evening of BBQ and brandy with one of America’s Top Chefs. This Uniquely Jewish Series Event, BBQ and Brandy with guest chef Katsuji Tanabe is this Sunday at Copper & Kings at 6 pm. Tickets are $44 per person, $32 for people 29 and under.

JeffTheBrotherhoodTuesday (10/21) Jeff the Brotherhood -  rockers Jeff and the Brotherhood will be at Zanzabar, one of the favorite local music venues, next Tuesday. This show promises to rock your socks off, literally. Doors open at 8 pm, show starts at 9 pm. Tickets start at $12.

ArtInActionWednesday (10/22) Yelp’s Art in Action - Enjoy creative eats, exquisite drinks, interactive exhibitions from local businesses and organizations, and more in the amazing and expansive confines of Portland’s Tim Faulkner Gallery. And best news folks, it’s all free. RSVP today!

SuperHero1KSaturday (10/25) Super Hero 1K - So this looks like all kinds of awesome. Participants dress in their favorite Super Hero costume (yes!), and run (or fly!) from Tyler Park to the Monkey Wrench. Tickets are $20 and proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Haven, so not only can you act like a super hero, you’ll actually be one too, win, win.
