It’s Forecastle week, y’all. Our city will be filled with top musicians, festival foodies, music junkies, and hung over hipsters. And they’ll all be here in celebration of our locally grown, nationally recognized Forecastle Festival.  Never been to Forecastle?!? Prepare to have your mind blown. Speaking of preparation, we’ll be posting up tips from seasoned attendees to help you navigate the festival with breeze, stay tuned.

GetSocial_July2016Wednesday (7/13) New2Lou July Beer Social - It’s time again to get social! Join us tonight for our July 2nd Wed social! We’ll be partying it up across the bridge at Flat 12 Bierworks in Jeffersonville! Feeling adventurous? Talk a walk across the Big Four Bridge. It’s only a couple of miles and will give you the opportunity to work up an appetite and work off the beer. Event is FREE w/ RSVP!

WINTICKETS_MAXWELLThursday (7/14) Maxwell - Did you pick up your tickets yet? If not, lucky you tickets are still available and we certainly don’t want you to miss out on this great show! Maxwell, American R&B artist, is coming to the Louisville Palace on Thursday, July 14th! The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $45.50. Congrats to our lucky ticket winner Aubrey. Enjoy the show!

ForecastleFestival2016Friday (7/15) - Sunday (7/17) Forecastle Festival - Three-day music, art, and environmental activism festival right here in our own backyard. Big names: Alabama Shakes, Death Cab for Cutie, Ryan Adams, Brandi Carlile and more! Tickets still available. Enter to win a pair of VIP tickets at new2lou.do502.com. ForecastleLateNightDrDogFriday (7/15) Forecastle Late Night: Dr. Dog - Want to keep the party going? Why not catch the official Forecastle Late Night Show with Dr. Dog at Headliners Music Hall! 18+ show. Doors open at 11 pm, show starts at 11:59 pm. Tickets are $15. Have a great time and remember Forecastle is only once a year, so why not party it up?

TimFaulknerGalleryYogaSaturday (7/16) Community Karma Yoga - Get your zen on before hitting up the festival this Saturday morning at the Tim Faulkner Gallery. Bring your friends and your mat for a power yoga class suitable for all ages and levels taught by Zachary Goldstein. Donations collected will go to the Tim Faulkner Gallery. Class is held every Saturday from 10:45 am - 12:00 pm.

SpeedArtMuseumSunday (7/17) Owsley Sundays - Haven’t been to the new Speed Art Museum yet?!? Then you’re in for a big treat! They just completed a HUGE renovation and it’s a MUST see (and do). And thanks to a generous contribution from Brown-Forman, in honor of the late Owsley Brown II, admission is FREE on Sundays through March 2021. So, no excuses: head to the Speed Art Museum STAT!

Featured movie this week is the 2015 British animated adventure comedy, Shaun the Sheep!  Doors open at 7 pm, movie starts at 8 pm. FREE and open to the public. Seating first come, first serve.

GrindPintNightTuesday (7/19) Pint Night at Grind - What better way to celebrate Tuesday than with a delicious pint of beer paired with the best burger in the city, right?!? Join Grind Burger Kitchen next Tuesday from 5-10 pm for their weekly pint night!! Each week they feature a rotating specialty craft beer which will be posted on Grind’s Facebook page, so give them a follow.
