Wednesday (6/7) - Saturday (6/10) Southern Fried Poetry Slam - Southern Fried Poetry Slam is the 2nd largest poetry festival in the nation and for the first time ever, it’s coming to Louisville! The festival will be at the Kentucky Center and offers poetry exhibitions, writing workshops, community service projects and open mics. Tickets: All access pass is $45, individual events start at $5 and open mic entry is $10.
Thursday (6/8) Dave Chappelle - Louisville Palace announced a BIG, we mean HUGE, pop-up event last week. This one right here. THE Dave Chappelle will be at the Louisville Palace this Thursday! We aren’t going to lie, tickets are little pricey, but it’s Dave fricken Chappelle (he’s kind-of a legend) so you gotta go, right?
Friday (6/9) Foxhollow Farm Sunset Concert Series - Foxhollow Farm continues their Sunset Concert Series this Friday with Frederick the Younger and Alanna Fugate. Savory and sweet treats from local restaurants and food trucks PLUS craft beer and cocktails available for purchase. Show starts at 6 pm. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. BYO blankets and chairs.
Friday (6/9) Butchertown Social & South African Braai - Join Copper & Kings this Friday big ole’ South African braai (BBQ)! Enjoy South African sausage - “boerewors” accompanied by a ”Tjop” (lamb chops) and a “dop” (delicious brandy cocktails), local craft beer, and music by Fela Booty. Party starts at 7:00 PM. Saturday (6/10) Totally Tubular Tube-A-Thon - Nothing says summer more than a good tube down the river. To celebrate the summer weather, Kentucky for Kentucky is hosting an epic Tube-A-Thon next Saturday. Plan to meet at 1 PM at the Still Waters Campground near Frankfort (approximately 1 hour East of Louisville) and tube down the beautiful Elkhorn River. No tube? No problem. Rent one when you register.
Saturday (6/10) Joan Shelley, with Jake Xerxes Fussell - Local and uber talented musician Joan Shelly is back in town! She and Jake Xerxes Fussell will be at Headliners Music Hall this Saturday. We also heard from a little birdie Maiden Radio may make a special appearance too. Tickets start at $15 and $1 per ticket will go to Kentucky Waterways Alliance. Sunday (6/11) Wilco - Wilco, alt country/indie rock band based in Chicago, is performing at one of our fav outdoor venues, Iroquois Amphitheater, this Sunday night. It really doesn’t get much better than fine music underneath the summer stars with your fine friends and loved ones. So grab a ticket and join the fun. Gates open at 6:30 PM, Show starts at 7:30 PM. Tickets start at $40.

Wednesday (6/14) New2Lou June Social at HopCat - Ready to meet some new folks and try a new place? Of course you are! Mark your calendars for our June social at the new brewery HopCat in the Highlands. They’ll be serving up great beers and we’ll be serving up cool new folks. Party starts at 5:30 PM. Event is FREE w/ RSVP, but space is limited so get on it.
Friday (6/16) Future Islands - Early notice, but we certainly don’t want you to miss this show.
