Will You Be My Valentine?

Are you a romantic at heart, swinging single or meh, who cares? Good news. Louisville’s social scene has your covered regardless of your status and we’ve got the inside scoop. So, what is this good news we speak of? Well, tonight we’re kicking things off with our our awesome New2Lou Social at the Kentucky Center.  A place where singles, couples, romantics and cynics all come together as one to mingle and meet new folks.  Who know’s? You may just find THE one, the “cheese to your macaroni”.  Speaking of cheesy, check out our awesome Valentine’s Day playlist on Spotify.  Feel free to re-gift to your macaroni, we won’t tell.

Wednesday (2/13) New2Lou Social at the Kentucky Center - It’s time again to mix and mingle with Louisville finest newbies! This month we’re at the Kentucky Center and they are kicking things up a notch with a photo booth, costumes, and drink specials. Yelp is joining the party too, so be sure to check-in to get some sweet Yelp swag.

Thursday (2/14) Valentine’s Day - Dining out?  Here’s a few romantic options: Proof On Main, Bristol Bar & Grill, The Brown Hotel, Rye, Milkwood, Hillbilly Tea, Belle of LouisvilleBernheim ForestFrench Lick Resort  and Ruby Tuesday.  Ok, ok, so that last one, probably not the most romantic option, but tell em you’re saving the environment, because you are, thanks to the Forecastle Foundation. Thursday (2/14) “The LoveBird Ball“- Amvets Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of Amvets, Danny Mac’s Pizza, T-Claw Calling, and the Louisville Old Time Squares Association are calling you out to the ”The LoveBird Ball“, proceeds will benefit the Brown Cancer Center. Square dancing, yall.

Thursday (2/14 - Saturday (2/16) Focus Louisville - a 2 ½-day program held four times each year that provides a “behind the scenes” exploration of Louisville, designed to heighten understanding, appreciation, and ownership of our community. Friday (2/15) U of L vs UK Ice Hockey - University of Louisville will take on their rival University of Kentucky on ice!  The first 50 paid admissions through the door February 16th will receive a free pass for the next UL Home Game. Tickets are $5. Game starts at 7 pm.

Saturday (2/16) An Awkward First Date - We’ve all been there, right? Good news, it’s not you, it’s me. Well actually it’s Project Improv and IndyProv experiencing the awkwardness first hand, live and fully-improvised for your guilty pleasure. Doors open at 7:30 pm, show starts at 8 pm. Admission is $7 or $10 for two. Purchase in advance or at the door. Cash bar.

Saturday (2/16) Year of the Snake Party - Join Louisville Third Century and the Crane House Young Professionals as they kick-off the Year of the Snake in style. Dance, eat, play, and bet from 9:30 pm - 1 am at the Henry Clay.  Dress to impress. Red and gold cocktail attire is encouraged. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.

Sunday (2/17) Yoga with Art -  Flex those creative and physical muscles every Sunday at 2:30 - 4 pm at 21C Museum Hotel.  Sessions are $5 at the door and led by certified yoga instructors.  Bring your own mat, towel and water and arrive early to reserve your spot, space is limited.

February 22-March 3 502 Restaurant Week- Mark your calendars for Louisville’s Official Restaurant Week! Wine and dine at participating restaurants for $50.20 (how clever, 502 area code = price) for a 3-course pre-fix meal for two.  They also have a free app to help you navigate the dining scene, perfect for those of us that are New2Lou.

February 27 Digital Detox at Garage Bar - ”device-free” night at Garage Bar where people have to actually socialize and talk face-to-face without the distraction of anything electronic.  So check your digital self at the door and celebrate old school style!  Donations for KY Harvest are accepted at the door.

February 28 New2Lou Bourbon 101 Encore - Missed out on Bourbon 101 last month?  No worries, we got your back.  We want you, the newbie, to be well educated and armed with bourbon knowledge so we bring you an encore of Bourbon 101! Join us on Thursday (2/28) at 6 pm at the Silver Dollar. Tickets are $30 per person, purchase tickets here.
