Wednesday (2/26) Digital Detox at Garage Bar! - Put away your digital distractions (smart phones, tablets, etc) and enjoy a “device-free” evening at Garage Bar. Practice your “old school” social skills and actually talk face-to-face. You know, like before we all had smart phones. And don’t forget to bring canned goods to donate to KY Harvest.
Wednesday (2/26) What the Bleep are Bitcoins? - If you’re like us, you’ve heard of Bitcoins, but don’t know that much about them. Thankfully, Louisville Digital Association is here to help. Local expert Lamar Wilson and some of his Bitcoin-wielding friends will talk about Bitcoin and why it’s important. Free and open to the public. Register now.
Thursday (2/27) Blondes vs. Brunettes - flag football sensation that’s raised more than $2 million nationally in more than 40 cities to help fight Alzheimer’s disease. Learn more about this fun event coming to Louisville on June 7th at Drakes from 6-8 pm. And don’t worry guys, you’re invited too. They are looking for a few good cheerleaders, seriously.
Thursday (2/27) The Gibson Brothers - The recipients of the 2012 and 2013 International Bluegrass Music Association’s Entertainers of the Year Award and one of the hottest bluegrass bands on the planet will be plucking away at the Clifton Center at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $18 and can be purchased at CliftonCenter.org or Carmichael’s Bookstore.
Friday (2/28) Pop-Up Dinner at Atlantic No 5 - The awesome folks at RYE are hosting a Pop Up Dinner at the new hot spot Atlantic No. 5 at 6:30 pm. They will be presenting their take on “Japanese comfort food.” Tickets are $60/person and includes a family-style pre-fixe menu. Friday (2/28) Cheek’d Shark Tank Louisville Viewing Party - NYC Based Startup, Cheek’d, and hits the Sharky Waters of ABC’s Shark Tank! Come join our viewing party to see if Cheek’d Founder, Lori Cheek, a Taylorsville, KY native turned marvelous Manhattanite, walks out of the tank with a deal from the Sharks. RSVP in advance.
Friday (2/28) - Sunday (3/2) Startup Weekend Louisville - Last chance to sign up and test your entrepreneurial skills with other creative folks in Louisville! Tickets are still available and start at $49. Don’t have time to commit the whole weekend? Stop by Velocity on Friday at 7:30 pm to watch the initial pitches or final presentations on Sunday at 5 pm.
Saturday (3/1) The Filson Bourbon Academy - The Filson Historical Society is launching a brand new bourbon education program with a historical twist, perfect for the history buffs. The focus will be on the stories and historical significance of bourbon in the region. And of course there will be tasting too. Tickets are $125 per person, $100 for Filson members.
Sunday (3/2) LFS Oscar Party - The Louisville Film Society is hosting their 1st Annual Oscar Party Fundraiser at their brand new Portland location. Cheer on the hometown favorite, Jennifer Lawrence, and enjoy complimentary local food, locally brewed beer and crafty cocktails. Auction prizes include American Hustle memorabilia and other enticing entertaining items. Tickets start at $50.

Monday (3/3) “Beat Bobby Flay” Viewing Party - Cheer on Seviche Chef Anthony Lamas as he competes in a head-to-head battle with Bobby Flay himself! Lamas will appear on the premiere episode of Bobby Flay’s brand-new series on Monday night at 10 pm. Join the party in Seviche’s cocktail lounge. No reservations required, seating on a first come first served basis.
Tuesday (3/4) Forecastle 2014 Lineup Announcement - After much anticipation, Forecastle Festival will be announcing their 2014 lineup this Tuesday! Last year was slam packed with top notch artists, so you know what the means…more great artists to come! And Forecastle will be releasing more weekend passes for sale this Friday, so get on it!
Wednesday (3/5) New2Stylin: Hair - Only 1 week until the first event in our New2Stylin series and you certainly don’t want to miss out. The experts at Hair by Bennie and Friends will share pro-styling tips, answer styling questions and conduct live demonstrations on volunteers (we’re looking at you). We’ll also have wine and light bites, cause it’s ladies night! Come prepared to get pampered and meet some cool new folks. Tickets are $20.
