This weekend is Thunder Over Louisville, which officially kicks off the Kentucky Derby festivities, and The Kentucky Derby is only two weeks away (May 7th) so it’s time to get your party pants (and hats) on! There are a ton of events and festivities leading up to Derby, more than we can list in our e-newsletter, so stick close to us and we’ll help you not only survive the madness, but do it in style. Wednesday (4/19) Tosh Show On Campus - Daniel Tosh, popular stand up comedian who hosts his own Comedy Central television show called Tosh.0, will be at the KFC Yum! Center tonight! We’re sure Daniel and his Tosh.o team will have you laughing non-stop. Want to go? Lucky you, tickets are still available! Tickets range from $20 to $75 and show starts at 7:30 PM.
Wednesday (4/19) - Saturday (4/22) Festival of Faiths - What is Festival of Faiths? A four-day festival of music, poetry, film, art and dialogue with internationally renowned spiritual leaders, thinkers and practitioners. And the best news? It’s right here in Lou, at a Kentucky Center to be exact. Tickets are still available. Festival passes (access to all events and sessions) are $250 and single sessions are $25.
Thursday (4/20) Music Without Boarders - Presented as part of the second annual Festival of American Music, the Louisville Orchestra puts the spotlight on seven contemporary composers who are women. Their unique voices offer important and powerful messages in today’s world. Show starts at 7:30 PM at the Kentucky Center. Tickets are $20.
Friday (4/21) Julianne & Derek Hough: Move- Beyond - Julianne & Derek Hough from Dancing with the Stars, will be at the Louisville Palace this Friday, April 21st! Want to go to the show? Saturday (4/22) Thunder Over Louisville - For many of you this will be your first Thunder, but don’t worry newbie we’ve got your back. Sunday (4/23) Louisville Bats - It’s that time of the year again folks, baseball season! And lucky us, we are not only home to THE Louisville Slugger (the world-famous bat), but also home to the Louisville Bats (our semi-pro baseball team). Grab a friend and cheer on the home team at Louisville Slugger Field! Game starts at 2:05 pm and tickets start at $10. No better way to wrap up the weekend.

Tuesday (4/25) Taste of Derby Festival - Mark your calendars for this awesome annual event next Tuesday at Louisville Slugger Field from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Sample Louisville’s best dishes from more than 60 celebrate local restaurants, bourbon distilleries and beverage companies while giving back to an awesome organization, win-win. Tickets are $80. All proceeds to benefit Dare to Care Food Bank.
Thursday (4/27) New2Lou Derby Festival Social - Join us next Thursday for an extra special social. In celebration of Derby season, we’ll be partying it up with the Kentucky Derby Festival and kicking off this year’s Fest-a-Ville concert series at Louisville Waterfront Park.
