Thursday (8/15) Rye Backporch Sessions - After you finish up your tasty meal at Decca, head on over to Rye for some great live music. Featured local artists this month are Whistle Peak, Elephant Stone and special guests (yet to be announced).
Thursday (8/15) - Sunday (8/25) Kentucky State Fair - Folks come to town from all over the region to the annual Kentucky State Fair to showcase the best of the best: animals, dance, food, you name it. And there are evening music concerts (too many to name here) and you can meet the Duck Dynasty crew. Plenty of entertainment and people watching, trust us.
Friday (8/16) Modoc and Discount Guns at Zanzabar - Modoc and Discount Guns are going to rock the house at local favorite music hotspot Zanzabar and you’re invited. Doors open at 8 pm and show starts at 9 pm. Tickets are $6. Event is 21+.
Saturday (8/17) Lunar 5K - Ready to get your glow on? Lunar 5K is glow in the dark run/walk energized by live music and electric avenues. And the best part is 100% of the proceeds benefit non-profit Hosparus, so you’ll be giving back to an awesome organization. Registration at 6:30 pm, race starts at 8 pm. Cost is$35 in advance and $40 day of event.
Saturday (8/17) Actors Theatre Block Party - Celebrate Actors Theatre‘s 50th Anniversary at their huge Block Party from 1 pm to 10 pm on Main Street between 3rd and 4th. Live Music from Ben Sollee and The Pass, Food Trucks, Behind-the-Scenes Tours, Bartender Challenge and prizes! Free and open to the public.
Saturday (8/17) Red Bull King of the Rock Qualifier - 64 players will go head to head in a 1 on 1 bracket style tournament at Shawnee Park to determine who will represent Kentucky at the Red Bull King of the Rock. Registration starts at noon, games start at 1 pm.
Sunday (8/18) Bruno Mars - Catch the Bruno Mars: “Moonshine Jungle World Tour” right here in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center this Sunday at 7:30 pm. Special guests Fitz and the Tantrums will kick off the party, so we suggest you get there early. Tickets start at $39.50 and are still available.
