Happy New Year to all of you, who are New2Lou!  Cheers to those who recently moved to Louisville and those who continue to choose Louisville as your home.  Is your New Year’s Resolution to meet new people?  We can help!  Join us tonight at the Monkey Wrench,a Louisville favorite who recently got a sweet upgrade, so you know we’re down to check it out!  And thanks to our partner Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, we’ll be giving away a pair of tickets to Green Day’s American Idiot! Be sure to sign in and pick up a raffle ticket before 7 pm for your chance to win! Winner must be present to win, so don’t even think about sneaking out early.

Wednesday (1/8) New2Lou 2nd Wed Social - Join us for our first 2nd Wed social of the new year tonight at the Monkey Wrench from 5:30 - 8:30 pm! There will be drinks, food and awesome new folks! Free and open to the public, even if you are “Old2Lou”. RSVP now!

Now - Tuesday (2/4) The Pirates of Penzance - musical comedy about high seas adventure and answering the call of duty on stage now at Actors Theatre. Feeling a little adventurous purchase a promenade ticket and you can enjoy the show up close and personal,  from the stage deck. Tickets are only $10 and limited seating is available. Call the Box Office at 502-584-1205 to purchase.

Thursday (1/9) Mayor’s Music and Art Series - free monthly series showcasing local musicians, artists and performers at Mayor’s Gallery at historic Louisville Metro Hall.  This month will showcase the Nick Dittmeier Band. Doors open at 11:30 am. music starts at 12:10 pm. Free and open to the public.  Bring your lunch and enjoy live music during your lunch hour.

Friday (1/10) The Del McCoury Band w/ Whiskey Bent Valley 91.9 WFPK presents award winning bluegrass band The Del McCoury Band with local bluegrass band Whiskey Bent Valley this Friday at Headliners Music Hall. Doors open at 7 pm. Show starts at 8 pm. Tickets are $20. 18 and over.

Saturday (1/11) 2014 Resolutions Solutions Fair - Annual fair gathers local businesses, practitioners and non-profits at Rainbow Blossom to help you find the right support for your new year resolution goals. Giveaways and raffle prizes from noon to 4 pm. If fitness is your focus, also check out the LEO Weekly Fitness Crawl, Jan 20-25.

Saturday (1/11) Date Night in Paris - Want to really impress your date? Take them to Paris…at the Frazier History Museum this Saturday from 5 to 9 pm. Enjoy French music, French lessons, a French film, special gallery tours/talks and a cash bar featuring specialty cocktails such as “The Eiffel Tower”, “Night in Paris” and “The French Pearl.” Tickets are $18.50.

Sunday (1/12) Nia at Shine Studio - Wrap up the crazy week with a Nia class. What’s Nia? It’s a fun, low- or no-impact aerobic workout combining simple dance moves, martial arts and healing arts. No prior experience needed. Location is at Shine Studio in NuLu District. Time is 11 am – 12 pm and cost is $15.

Tuesday (1/14) Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Enjoy a first-class performance from one of the UK’s most prestigious orchestras, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, right here in Louisville, in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets start at $35 and show starts at 7:30 pm.
