Happy Holidays & New Year

Thanks again everyone for celebrating with us at the New2Lou B-Day Bash at 21c Museum Hotel!  It was a great night of dancing and socializing and in case you missed it, here’s some photos to prove it.  More photos are on our Flickr page, which you should join and share you photos too!  What’s on the radar?  Holiday events, music, shopping, end of the world, no big deal (hehe). Find more events by clicking on the local calendars on our events page.  And be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.

Wednesday (12/12) GLOW Holiday Party - Join the Greater Louisville Outstanding Women (GLOW) for an evening of holiday cheer at the Kentucky Museum of Arts and Craft. Grab a cocktail and mix it up with women making business happen in Louisville one connection at a time!  Event is open to the public and admission is $25 per person.

Thursday (12/13) - Saturday (12/15) NCAA Division I Volleyball Championships - Louisville and the KFC Yum! Center are hosting the NCAA Division I Volleyball championships this year!  Get ready to welcome the top athletes in the country to this fine city of ours. Snatch up tickets for a game or the entire weekend.  We’ll be there and you should too!

Friday (12/14) Discount Guns and Local Villains (two awesome local bands) are throwing a party at Haymarket Whiskey and you’re invited.  Music, whiskey, good times.  $5 at the door. Saturday (12/15) Coffee & Conversation - Join the Louisville Downtown Residents Association (LDRA) for coffee and conversation at Ghyslain on Market at 10 am.  Event is free and open to the public, even if your not a downtown resident. Learn first hand from those that are what its really like to live downtown.

Saturday (12/15) - Sunday (12/16) Flea Off Market- Flea Off Market was canceled last weekend due to the poor weather, but lucky you, they’re back this weekend!  Pick up unique local gifts for the someone special.  Clock’s ticking, the holidays are right around the corner, so get on it.

Sunday (12/16)  Detox & Destress - yoga workshop at Shine Studio from 11 am to 1 pm.  Let’s face it, the holidays are stressful and can be a bit overwhelming.  Take time out of your busy schedule to replenish your mind, body, and spirit, your body (and your significant other) will thank you for it.  Cost is $20 in advance, discount if you bring a friend (hint, hint).

December End of the Word Special Menu at Mayan Cafe - in anticipation of the end of the Mayan calendar, December 21, 2012, chef, Bruce Ucán, and his brother, chef Willy Ucán, have created a special prix-fixe menu made of up of dishes they would eat if it was the last meal of their lives.  The special menu is available the entire month of December and trust us, you don’t want to miss this.  Make your reservations today.

December 31 New Year’s Eve Party at 21C- celebrate New Year’s Eve at one of the coolest parties in the city.  21C is transforming the Atrium Gallery into a swanky lounge from 8 pm - 1 am.  Live DJ, dancing, balloon drop and of course bubbly to help you ring in the New Year in style.  Cost is $40 per person and includes two cocktails. Must be 21+ years old.
