Summer has officially arrived and what better way to celebrate than at WFPK Waterfront Wednesday with 10,000 of your closest friends. Free music in the park, drinks, and good friends. Ah yeah!

BigFourBridgeWednesday (6/25) Big Four Bridge Grand Opening - Join Mayor Greg Fischer, Mayor Mike Moore, and Governor Steve Beshear as they officially celebrate the Grand Opening of the Big Four Bridge. Free and open to the public. Parade starts at 5 pm. Costumes and decorated bikes encouraged. Who’s in?!?

WFPKWaterfrontWedWednesday (6/25) WFPK Waterfront Wednesday It’s summertime! You know what that means…Waterfront Wednesday! Free summer concerts presented by WFPK and Waterfront Development Corporation on the last Wednesday of every month. Featured artist this month: Old97’sThe Whigs, and Dawn Landes. Music starts at 6 pm. 

FifaWorldCupThursday (6/26) World Cup: USA vs Germany - USA and Germany face off on Thursday at noon. Where should you go to catch all the action? Thankfully the fine folks at Local View picked the Top 5 Places to Watch the World Cup. But get there early to grab a seat, everyone else is reading this post too.

WaterfrontYogaThursday (6/26) Yoga on the WaterfrontShine is hosting a series of Yoga classes at Louisville Waterfront Park this Thursday (and every Thursday throughout the summer) at 6:30 pm. Experience a great Vinyasa Flow as the Ohio River flows by! Bring your mat and meet at the Lincoln Memorial. Suggested donation $5-10.

Terrace LoungeFriday (6/27) Downs After Dark - Last chance to hit the track this season. The last Downs after Dark party is this Friday night. Thoroughbred racing, local DJs, live performance by the rock band Juice Box Hero’s, and special appearance by Elvis Presley himself! General Admission tickets $10, reserved box seats $20, or $25 for access to the brand new Terrace Lounge.

Lou_Bucket_ListFriday (6/27) Louisville Bucket List - We’re teaming up with Yelp Louisville to bring you the Louisville Bucket List, Derby City must dos for those both new and old 2 Lou. What’s next on the list? Cruisin on the Belle of Louisville. Brand new addition to the list?!? Forecastle Festival! Enter to win a pair of tix on Yelp Louisville by noon this Friday. Good luck!

ShakespeareFriday (6/27) - Sunday (7/6) Shakespeare in the Park - Kentucky Shakespeare’s Annual Shakespeare in the Park continues this weekend with Henry V. Enjoy Shakespeare in beautiful Old Louisville’s Central Park. Food and drinks available for purchase. Pre-show at 7:15 pm, performance starts at 8 pm. Free and open to the public.

DCCCSaturday (6/28) - Sunday (6/29) Derby City Comic Con - Comic book fans rejoice! Derby City Comic Con is this weekend at KICC in downtown Louisville. First 250 people through the door on Saturday will get receive a Great Little Retro Robot Soap! Weekend pass $15. Single day wristband $10.

TonyTanlinesSunday (6/29) Cherokee Triangle Summer Concert Series- What better way to wrap up the fun-filled holiday weekend than music in the park? Join the Cherokee Triangle Association summer concert series this Sunday from 7-9 pm. Featured artist this week is Tony and the Tan Lines (Yacht Rock). Free and open to the public.
