Bourbon, Ale and Sneak Peeks

The sun is finally out and we can’t wait to get out and celebrate! Hopefully you’ve saved up a lot of energy after being cooped in by the Polar Vortex, because we’ve handpicked a few extra events this week!  We’re kicking things off tonight with not one, but three events! Afterall Wednesday is the new Friday, right?!? And all of these events are top notch, because that’s the way we roll.

Wednesday (2/19) - Wednesday (3/5) 502 Restaurant Week - Louisville foodies rejoice, restaurant week is finally here! For a full 15 days participating restaurants will prepare special 3-Course menu for $50.20 per couple or $50.20 per person, depending on restaurant. Reservations highly recommended. Mention 502 Restaurant Week to get the deal.

Wednesday (2/19) WFPK Winter Wednesday - Final WFPK Winter Wednesday of the season at the Clifton Center, which means spring and Waterfront Wednesday are right around the corner!  Musicians this month are Bob Schneider and The Watson Twins. Music starts at 7:30 pm, doors open at 6:30 pm. Free and open to the public.

Wednesday (2/19) BLAM! Bonnaroo Line-up Announcement Megathon - Already dreaming of Bonnaroo? Wondering what amazing acts are coming in this year? Guestroom Records Louisville is one of 15 places in the country live-streaming Bonnaroo’s festival line-up announcement. Not only will you be the first to get the news, you’ll also have a chance to win a free pair of Bonnaroo tickets. BLAM!

Thursday (2/20) Kentucky Derby Festival: Festival Unveiled - brand new twist on the traditional KDF Poster Premiere. Unveiling of the official Kentucky Derby poster, sneak peek of upcoming events Thunder Over Louisville and new Tour De Lou cycling event, and Four Roses Bourbon 11th Annual Rose Annual Rose Julep Recipe Contest! Online sales have ended, but a limited amount of tickets will be available at the door for $35.

Friday (2/21) Making Memories Shopping Night!Get your shop on for a great cause. The awesome retailers of South Fourth Street (aka SoFo Louisville) will be donating a portion of every sale this Friday to The Alzheimer’s Association. Enjoy live music, refreshments and great shopping, all while giving back to a great organization.

Saturday (2/22) Tailspin Ale Fest - Hopefully you already have tickets, because this event is already sold out. We sure do love our beer in the town. But if you don’t, the fine folks at Get Out Louisville are running a ticket giveaway contest, but contest ends at 1:23 pm EST today, so get on it.

Sunday (2/23) Bourbon and Bluegrass Jam - It’s doesn’t get more Kentucky than bourbon and bluegrass.  Join Hickory Vaught and friends every Sunday evening for an evening of sippin’ and pickin’ at Haymarket Whiskey Bar. Sit back and enjoy or jump on stage and jam! Free and open to the public. Party starts at 8 pm.

Tuesday (2/25) Louisville Moth StorySLAM: Love Hurts - Are you a great story teller? Why not share your skills next Tuesday at Headliners Music Hall.  Place your name in the hat between 6 and 8 pm, storytellers randomly selected to present and audience judges will decide your fate. This month’s theme is LOVE HURTS. Tickets are $8.

Friday (2/28) Cheek’d Shark Tank Louisville Viewing Party - NYC Based Startup, Cheek’d, and hits the Sharky Waters of ABC’s Shark Tank! Come join our viewing party to see if Cheek’d Founder, Lori Cheek, a Taylorsville, KY native turned marvelous Manhattanite, walks out of the tank with a deal from the Sharks. RSVP in advance.

Wednesday (3/5) New2Stylin: Hair - Hey Ladies! Join us for our first event in our New2Stylin series. We’ve partnered with Hair by Bennie and Friends to teach you insider hair styling tips so you can style your hair like a pro, every day. Tickets are $20 and we’ll have wine, food and good times!
